About the Name CalCal(ver. 2.3 -> 2.4) is formerly known as MiniCalc(ver. 2.0 -> 2.2). There is a palmware named "Pilot Mini Calc". It might be confusing, so I changed the name. If you are using MiniCalc, please delete it and install CalCal. #### 1. Features * CalCal is a DA based calculator. * CalCal functions almost same as the Palm's integrated calculator (I hope :-). There two restrictions you must observe: 1. the '%' button and the 'Recent Calculations' menu are not included. 2. you can not paste the values from the clipboard. (But, you CAN copy the values to the clipboard.) * The selected operator button keeps highlighted until the other operator button will be selected. It indicates the last operation you have done. * You can move the CalCal window by stylus dragging.. #### 2. Software Contents Following five files are included in the software package. CalCala.prc | Execution module type A ('+' button at the bottom right corner) CalCale.prc | Execution module type E ('=' button at the bottom right corner) CalCalm.prc | Execution module type M ( '+' button at the bottom right corner, No memory ottons) CalCalq.prc | Execution module type Q ('=', button at the bottom right corner, No memory ottons) README.txt | Japanese README. System Requirements * Palm OS 2.0 or higher * DALauncher, QuickLauncher, LaunchMenu, ButtonDA Hack or other launcher program that can launch a DA is needed. #### 4. Legal Stuff - CalCal is copyrighted by the author, Kazuhiro Ishida. - The program in this package is freeware. - The author does not assume any responsibility for damages that are caused by using or not using the program. -The author does not guarantee to fix bugs of the program. - Please contact the author if you would like to distribute the program in this package. #### 5. Installation (1) Make sure DA Launching software is installed Re-check your Palm device to make sure DA Launching software is installed. If not, install one of the DA launching software, for example 'DA Launcher'. (2) Install CalCal ** Please delete MiniCalc before you install CalCal. ** Install one of the following files with Hot Sync: CalCala.prc, CalCale.prc, CalCalm.prc, CalCalq.prc You can not install more than two types at a time. #### 6. How To Use CalCal (1) Start and Exit * Select CalCal from your DALauncher to start. * When starting, it displays a stored value, which is the last result output. Tap a number key to ignore the stored value. * You can exit the program by tapping anywhere out of the frame. * You can launch an application by tapping calculator button. - The application is the normal calculator by default. - You can change the application by selecting from the application list. Type 'l' to show the application list. (2) Operation * Common Operation - The scroll button works as '='. - Tap the display area to copy the calculation result to the clipboard buffer. If it succeeded, you can see 'Copy' status message for about 0.5 second at the lower left corner. (Notes) a. Dragging in the display area does not work. b. Mis-dragging may couse a tapping. If you failed to move the window by dragging the upper side, the contents of the clipboard buffer is replaced. * Line Mode Operation - Type numbers with Graffiti. - You can move the window by dragging the display area. - Tap 's' or 'sw' to switch to the 'Button Mode'. * Button Mode Operation - You can move the window by dragging the display area or the title bar. - Tap top half of the title area or 's' to switch to the 'Line Mode'. - Tap bottom half of the title area to insert the calculation result directly to the text field that has the focus.(INSERT) If no text field has the focus, it does nothing. (3) Display - The 'mc' button is highlighted when the memory contents is not zero. - The 'c' and '=' button keeps highlighted after tapping it. You can know the previous action with them. This is not a bug. Don't you prefer it? FYI: The horizontal width of the window is set in order to have a proper display area. (It is needed to display the number like -1.2345678e-90). (4) Graffitti Input You can use following symbols. Graffitti input has no click sound. So this mode is useful when you should keep silence. (But some operations like 'memory add' can not be confiremed if it is done!) Numbers 0-9 '.' '+', 'k': ADD '-', spase: SUBTRACT '*', 'x': MULTIPLY '/', command: DIVIDE '\': TOGGLE SIGN(+-) 'c': CLEAR(c) 'e': CLEAR (ce) 'm': MEMORY CLEAR(mc) 'r': MEMORY RECALL(mr) 'a': MEMORY ADD(m+) backspase: BACKSPACE 's': TOGGLE MODE 'q': QUIT 'w': COPY 'i': INSERT 'v': VERSION DISPLAY (removes the current value) #### 7. Version Up History * ver 2.5 2001/2/14 - A bug fix: memory addition doesn't - Load the selected number when invoked. - Now the program doesn't forget a stored number when invoked repeatedly. - Now you can choose the application launched by tapping calculator button. * ver 2.4b 2000/1/30 - By Tapping calculator button, you can launch normal calculator. * ver 2.4a 1999/8/19 - When you copy or insert a whole number, decimal point is now omitted. - A bug fix: buttons in CalCala and CalCale were not in order. - A bug fix: 'overwrite-install' from ver 2.3 caused fatal error. * ver 2.4 1999/8/14 - New feature 'INSERT' has been added. - A bug fix: periods('.') right after the operator input were ignored. - A bug fix(maybe): when using Launcher III, CalCal caused the fatal error by certain operations. * ver 2.3 1999/5/18 - The name has changed to 'CalCal' from 'MiniCalc'. - Now the scroll button works as '='. * ver 2.2 1999/2/22 - A bug fix: you couldn't calculate using the displayed number when invoked. - Recursive invokation is now support(maybe...). - 'Copy' indicator has moved to the right edge of number display area and the indicating time is shortened. * ver 2.1a 1998/12/23 - A bug fix about the memory and the 'm+' button. Tapping 'c' '3' 'x' '4' '=' 'm+' '5' and '+' in this order, it made '60' as the answer. - A bug fix: switch button didn't work in MiniCale.prc. - The indicator of division has changed to '/'. - Some corrections in README.TXT. * ver 2.1 1998/12/19 - A bug fix: 'mc' was highlighted when starting even though the memory contents was zero. - It now keeps displaying the form when tapping. - 'Copy' status message is now displayed at the lower-left corner when the result is copied. - Three Graffitti : command(DIVIDE)、'w'(COPY)、 'v'(VERSION INFORMATION) are added. - The button layout has changed. - Changes in operations: Line Mode COPY by tapping the display area. A Button changed : 'cp' -> 'sw'. Buttom Mode COPY by tapping the display area. Toggles the mode by tapping 'Calc'. * ver 2.0b 1998/12/16 - A bug fix about the memory and the '+-' button. Tapping 'c' '1' 'm+' and '+' in this order, '1' was disappared. ( 'c' '1' '+-' and '+' had the same problem.) In short, It caused a trouble to tap an operator button just after tapping a memory key or '+-' key. It still seems to be unstable. (I might fail in the design...) * ver 2.0a 1998/12/16 - A bug fix. If it had been closed at the bottom area, it opend at incorrect position in the next time. - An Addition in the README.TXT: 'q'(quit) * ver 2.0 1998/12/15 - Initail Release - I can not maintain the older version.....I do not have the ver 1.0 :-)
